CVPS Safeguarding Statement of Intent
“Clayton Village Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.”
At Clayton Village Primary School we are committed to providing a caring, friendly and safe environment for all our pupils so they can learn in a relaxed and secure atmosphere. We believe every pupil should be able to participate in all school activities in an enjoyable and safe environment and be protected from harm. This is the responsibility of every adult employed by, or invited to deliver services at, Clayton Village School. We recognise our responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all our pupils by protecting them from physical, sexual or emotional abuse, neglect and bullying.
At Clayton Village Primary School we are determined to ensure that all necessary steps are taken to protect children and young people from harm. As an organisation, we recognise our responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all our pupils, which includes all aspects of health promotion and prevention.
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults is an integral factor in the CVPS recruitment process and plays an essential part in creating a safe environment for children and vulnerable adults. Our Safer Recruitment policy forms an essential element of our safeguarding policies and procedures.
At Clayton Village Primary School we are proud to be part of the Mental Health Champions Scheme. We strive towards making sure Mental Health is a school priority. Making sense of a child's mental health needs can be as difficult for parents as it can be for children. Through partnership working we have ensured that our Learning Mentor is trained in Mental Health First Aid. To ensure all our children's well being is supported we also have a children's well being team.
