During these uncertain times we have put together this page to support our families with home learning. This is because there may be times when schools are closed for the majority of pupils or when pupils have isolate due to Covid19. Learning is such an important part of childhood and we know how detrimental the last few months have been on many children. Therefore, parents may also want to encourage their child to complete home learning due to the time missed in school.
If school closes to the majority of pupils then CVPS will move to an online education package including live lessons, pre-recorded lessons and tasks set on Seesaw. More information can be found in the CVPS Online Teaching and Learning Policy. Class teachers will set a timetable for children to follow at home. These can be found below under Home learning – January 21.
If a child is self-isolating, then work will be set on your child’s Seesaw account before 10am. If your child does not have access to a device, then they can request a paper home learning pack from the school office. More information can be found in the CVPS Remote Education Policy.
Children who are home can also access online learning from DfE approved providers such as The Oak Academy and BBC Bitesize.
Due to the impact of children missing so much time in school we have provided parents with a homework overview sheet. This explains what the expectations are for homework including compulsory homework, recommended homework, catch-up learning and optional learning.
Each year group has set catch-up homework for the Spring Term. This includes a homework grid with catch up learning and features some areas that we think would be useful for your child to practise at home.
Please also take a look at your child’s class page as this is often updated with what your child is learning each term.
