Sporting Achievements

Welcome to Clayton Village's sporting achievements page. Here you can see how well our pupils are doing in the sporting environment. At CVPS our main goal is inclusion and enjoyment in terms of physical activity. We provide P.E as part of the children's weekly timetable whilst also offering them numerous other chances to become involved in sport aside from that in their curriculum.

From year 1 through to year 6 we run afterschool sports clubs, we have three adults and a group of children who are play leaders operating at lunch time. These play leaders help teach the children correct practise while also teaching rules and regulations of each sport in question. They are primarily there to include and encourage our children to partake in a wide range of games/sports.

Working closely alongside local schools has allowed us to build relationships that now offer competition in a friendly setting with said schools. This gives our children an insight to competitive sport in a safe and inclusive environment. We have also increased our school to club link on an amateur level as well as a professional level seeing the likes Bradford Bulls, Bradford City, Yorkshire Cricket, Clayton A.R.L.F.C, Clayton Cricket Club coming into our school to deliver numerous sessions in their respective sport.

We are extremely proud that a number of our children are being recognised at elite sporting centres and will further their development and skills through this. Many of our children have been spotted and approached by professional organisations as a direct result from their involvement in school sport. This has included Athletics, Rugby, Tennis, Football, Netball and Hockey coaches expressing an interest with our children furthering their development through trials for numerous initiatives and clubs.

Over the last 7 years our increased involvement in competitions against various schools around Bradford has seen us increase participation tenfold. This Year already we have involved 37% of KS2 pupils in extracurricular competition. We have achieved Bronze, Silver and Gold kite marks in recognition of our involvement in the School Games.

Our achievements through competitions this year are:

U11 Boys Football Group runners up

U11 Boys Football Group 3rd Place

U11 Girls Football West Braford 4th Place (Team 1)

U11 Girls Football West Bradford 5th Place (Team 2)
