Phonics: supporting your child at home

Please find below the soundmats which are used in school.

Phase 2 (first introduced in Reception: Autumn Term)

Phase 3 (first introduced in Reception: Spring and Summer Terms)

Phase 4 (first introduced in Y1, Autumn Term) – no new sounds; practising reading and writing words containing consonant clusters (e.g. bend, strip)

Phase 5-1 (first introduced in Y1: Autumn Term)

Phase 5-2 (first introduced in Y1: Summer Term)

*Remember, your child might need to revise the sounds from a previous term or year.

Please find below a link to the Facebook page referred to on the above website. Check out the videos for some lovely activities (albeit requiring some preparation and resources). Each activity is generally labelled as Phase 2, 3, etc. and/or ‘suitable for Reception, etc.’ which should help you find activities suitable for your child’s level.
